Schools by Inkrant FAQ — Pricing, AI Features, Setup, and Support

What is Schools by Inkrant?

Schools by Inkrant connects attendance, fees, academics, and parent communication for K-12. School management from ₹999/mo; School Brain and advanced AI on Pro and Enterprise. 14-day Pro trial. Beyond admin work (attendance, fees, messaging, exams), teachers get syllabus tracking by chapter and topic, homework and assessments tied to what you teach, and parent and student apps so everyone sees the same picture. On Pro and Enterprise, School Brain answers leadership questions from live data, and AI helps with grading, timetables, assessments, and early warnings on students who may need support. One product scales from a small tuition center on Mini to a multi-branch group on Enterprise. Inkrant Private Limited builds and operates Schools by Inkrant from Hyderabad, India.

How does AI grading work in Schools by Inkrant?

Teachers upload scans or enter responses for essays, short answers, MCQs, fill in the blanks, and other question types you configure in your assessment setup. The engine reads each answer against your rubric and marking scheme, proposes a mark, and drafts feedback parents can understand. Nothing goes to the gradebook as final until a teacher reviews it: accept in one step, edit the score, or rewrite feedback. That keeps boards and parents confident that a human remains accountable. AI grading ships on Pro and Enterprise only; Mini and Lite use manual grading workflows (Lite still includes AI Report Card Comments for report card season).

How much does Schools by Inkrant cost?

Schools by Inkrant lists four public tiers on the pricing page so you can budget before a sales call. Mini is ₹999/month flat for up to 100 students: core ERP (attendance, fees, gradebook, parent portal, apps, email), 10 staff seats, no AI. Lite is ₹2,999/month plus ₹19 per student per month: full ERP, AI Report Card Comments, 25 staff seats, up to 2 branches, 25GB storage, 14-day free trial. Pro is ₹5,999/month plus ₹39 per student: everything in Lite plus the full AI suite (School Brain, AI grading, AI timetables, AI assessments, insights), 50 staff seats, up to 5 branches, 100GB storage, priority support with a 4-hour SLA, 14-day free trial. Enterprise is custom for large chains (typically 1500+ students): white-label, SLA, dedicated support, and branch limits negotiated. Pay annually for 25% off. Founding 100 schools (first 100 registrations while the program is open) get an extra 30% off for 24 months at signup; with annual prepay that stacks to roughly 47.5% off headline pricing in year one on annual billing.

Which school boards and curricula does Schools by Inkrant support?

Schools by Inkrant configures grading scales, continuous assessment labels (for example SBA or CA weightages), term structure, and report card layouts to match the profile you choose at registration or in admin settings. India: CBSE, ICSE, and state boards including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and other state frameworks. Africa: national curricula across the continent, with dedicated templates where we have built them, including South Africa CAPS (including letter-grade and SBA-oriented setups), Kenya CBC, Nigeria (WAEC/WASSCE-oriented assessment plus NECO where schools need it, aligned to NERDC-style national structure), Ghana (NaCCA national curriculum with WASSCE-oriented assessment), Tanzania NECTA, Uganda UNEB, Zimbabwe ZIMSEC, Zambia ECZ, Egypt national, Ethiopia national, Botswana BEC, Rwanda RBC, and a generic African national profile for other countries that auto-applies at signup so you are not left on a blank template. International: IB (PYP, MYP, DP where you configure it), Cambridge IGCSE and related Cambridge pathways, and US Standard grading and report formats. Report cards and gradebooks are generated to match the board or national format you selected, not a one-size-fits-all PDF.

How is Schools by Inkrant different from other school management platforms?

Many legacy ERPs started with registers and fee receipts and added AI years later as paid add-ons or shallow chatbots. Schools by Inkrant on Pro and Enterprise embeds AI in daily work: School Brain for principals and admins (plain-language questions on attendance, fees, and results), AI grading for subjective papers, AI timetables in under a minute, AI assessments from a syllabus topic, and signals when students may be falling behind. Pricing is on the website in INR for Indian signup. Parent apps, push and email alerts, and core ERP are bundled on paid plans rather than sold as surprise modules. Multi-branch limits are clear by tier (Lite 2, Pro 5, Enterprise custom). You can line us up against other vendors on the Compare page and validate in a Lite or Pro trial, not only a slideware demo.

What is School Brain, and how does it help school leaders?

School Brain is the leadership console on Pro and Enterprise. It connects to your school's live attendance, fees, grades, and operations so principals and administrators can ask questions and see patterns without exporting spreadsheets. Examples include fee collection status, class performance, and attendance trends. It is not included on Mini or Lite. Staff review and approve before critical actions change records or reach parents. Learn more on the School Brain page at schools.inkrant.com/school-brain.

Why is Schools by Inkrant pricing on the website instead of “contact sales”?

We publish every tier so principals can budget before a call: Mini ₹999/month flat (up to 100 students), Lite ₹2,999/month plus ₹19 per student, Pro ₹5,999/month plus ₹39 per student with School Brain and the full AI suite, plus Enterprise for large groups. Lite and Pro include a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Use the Compare page for feature differences versus legacy ERPs, then start a Pro trial to test School Brain and AI grading on your own data — not a slideware demo.

Can Schools by Inkrant manage multiple school branches?

Yes on Lite, Pro, and Enterprise. Lite allows up to 2 branches, Pro up to 5, and Enterprise supports larger groups with custom limits and consolidated reporting. Each branch can run its own classes, staff roster, and local settings while group leadership sees roll-ups where your plan includes them. Mini is intended for a single campus or coaching center up to 100 students and does not include multi-branch management.

How long does it take to set up Schools by Inkrant for my school?

Most schools go live within 24 hours of signup. Standard onboarding covers your academic year, classes and sections, teacher accounts, board or national curriculum profile, and student import from Excel or an export from your previous system. We run a live admin training session (about one hour). You do not need an IT team for a typical single-campus rollout. Heavier moves (many branches, custom cutover dates, large legacy migrations) can use premium onboarding on Pro and Enterprise (₹25,000 one-time) with hands-on data work and scheduling.

Does Schools by Inkrant send WhatsApp notifications to parents?

WhatsApp Business API integration is on our roadmap (target Q3 2026 after Meta verification). Today every paid plan includes in-app notifications, mobile push through the Schools by Inkrant iOS and Android apps, and email for absences, fees, homework, and announcements. Parents still get timely updates on those channels. When WhatsApp ships, we plan to include it on Pro and Enterprise for schools already on those tiers rather than as a separate surprise fee.

Is there a free trial?

Lite and Pro include a 14-day free trial with the full feature set of that tier and no credit card to start. When the trial ends without payment, the workspace becomes read-only and your data stays available for 30 days so you can export or subscribe. Mini has no trial because it is already the entry tier at ₹999/month; Mini customers can request a full refund within the first 30 days if the product is not a fit.

What is the Founding 100 program?

Founding 100 is limited to the first 100 schools that register on Schools by Inkrant while the program remains open. You receive 30% off your chosen tier for the first 24 months automatically at signup (no application). That discount stacks with 25% off when you pay annually, which is roughly 47.5% off headline pricing for founding schools on annual prepay during the founding window. When the 100th school joins, the program closes. After 24 months you renew at standard public pricing unless we announce a different renewal offer in writing.

How do extra staff seats work?

Each tier includes base staff seats for admin, teacher, and staff logins (not parents; parent accounts are included without per-parent fees on paid tiers). Mini includes 10, Lite 25, Pro 50. Beyond included seats you buy extras at ₹99/seat/month on Mini and Lite or ₹249/seat/month on Pro. Hard caps before you must upgrade tier: 20 staff on Mini, 50 on Lite, 100 on Pro, then Enterprise for larger teams. Most schools stay within included seats; extras are for unusually large front-office or multi-shift staffing.

What is the difference between Lite and Pro?

Lite is the mainstream school tier: full ERP plus one AI feature, AI Report Card Comments, which drafts personalised comment text per student for report card season so teachers edit instead of writing from scratch. Pro adds the leadership and classroom AI stack: School Brain (agentic intelligence hub on live school data), AI grading with feedback, AI Timetable Generator, AI Assessment Creator from topics, AI at-risk detection, AI daily briefing, and AI promotion recommendations. Pro also doubles included staff seats (50 vs 25), raises multi-branch limit (5 vs 2), adds priority support with a 4-hour SLA, and increases storage (100GB vs 25GB). Choose Lite if ERP plus comment automation is enough; choose Pro if grading volume, timetables, and daily leadership questions matter.

Can my data be exported if we cancel?

Yes, export is free. CSV covers students, staff, attendance, and fees. PDF covers report cards and certificates. JSON is available for a full structured export. Admins can run exports from the dashboard; we can also prepare a complete archive within 7 business days on request. After cancellation, data is retained for 90 days, then deleted per our retention policy and DPDPA obligations unless you request earlier deletion.

Is Schools by Inkrant compliant with India DPDPA?

Yes for Indian schools. Schools by Inkrant is designed around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023: collect only what operations need, encryption in transit and at rest, logical separation per school tenant, consent flows where required, and deletion within statutory timelines. Enterprise customers can request a Data Processing Agreement and discuss data residency. International schools should review POPIA, GDPR, or local rules with their counsel; we provide export and deletion tooling to support your compliance program.

How does AI Timetable Generator work?

You define grades, sections, subjects, teacher availability (including max periods per week and which subjects each teacher can take), and rooms. The generator produces a weekly timetable in under 30 seconds with no teacher double-booking, no room clashes, and a sensible spread of subjects. Admins edit any period in the UI before publishing. Manual timetabling often takes days each term; schools on Pro and Enterprise rerun AI timetables quickly when a teacher is absent long term or rooms change.

Can parents and students use Schools by Inkrant on their phones?

Yes. Native iOS and Android apps support parent, student, teacher, and admin roles (exact menus vary by role). Parents see attendance, homework, grades, fee status, and announcements; they can pay fees via UPI in India where enabled. Students can access learning tools your school enables (for example syllabus progress, assignments, and AI doubt help on supported plans). Teachers can mark attendance on supported offline flows and sync when connectivity returns. Apps are included on paid tiers without charging per parent.

What ROI do schools see from Schools by Inkrant Pro?

ROI depends on enrollment, salary levels, and how much you use AI workflows. Illustration only: 500 students on Pro is about ₹25,499/month plus GST before discounts (₹5,999 platform fee plus ₹39 × 500 students), with 25% off on annual prepay. Schools typically value Pro through hours saved on grading, timetable builds, report cards, and leadership reporting rather than a single magic number. Use the public pricing page and any ROI calculator on the site with your student count and staff hours; book a demo if you want to map Pro features to your timetable and exam calendar.

What if my school grows past the student or staff cap?

The admin dashboard tracks enrollment and staff usage and warns you before hard limits. Above 100 students on Mini, upgrade to Lite. Above Lite staff caps or branch limits, upgrade to Pro. Very large deployments (for example 1500+ students or 100+ staff on Pro) move to Enterprise with a custom quote. Upgrades keep your existing data; you do not rebuild the school from scratch.

How does Schools by Inkrant protect student and school data?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with each school isolated in its own tenant. We follow India DPDPA practices for consent, access, and deletion. Hosting uses AWS and MongoDB Atlas with backups; passwords use bcrypt and 2FA is available. Admins can export data; Enterprise customers can request a DPA. See our privacy policy for retention and security detail.

How is data security handled?

Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Each school tenant is isolated in the database layer. Hosting uses AWS and MongoDB Atlas with daily incremental and weekly full backups. Passwords use bcrypt; 2FA is available. Audit logs record sensitive actions. Enterprise includes a 99.9% uptime SLA; other tiers run on the same infrastructure with standard availability targets in your agreement.

Do you offer onboarding help?

Standard onboarding is included on all paid tiers: import assistance, board or curriculum selection, academic calendar setup, and a live admin training session. Most schools finish in one day. Premium onboarding (₹25,000 one-time) covers heavy migrations, multiple branches, or custom cutover dates on Pro and Enterprise.

Can teachers override AI grading decisions?

Always. AI proposes marks and feedback; teachers accept, edit, or override before results publish to parents or report cards. Overrides stay in the record for accountability. Use AI for a fast first pass; teachers remain responsible for what boards and families see.

What payment methods do you accept?

Indian schools: UPI and Razorpay card auto-debit for subscriptions, plus NEFT/RTGS for Enterprise invoicing. We do not accept cash or cheques. Annual prepay (25% discount) is billed as one invoice, often aligned to April for Indian academic years. Quarterly billing is available without the annual discount. International partner-billed schools follow Partner Console billing terms set by their distributor.

Is there a refund policy?

Mini: full refund within 30 days of first payment if you cancel. Lite and Pro: no charge during the 14-day trial; after you pay, the current month is generally non-refundable but you can cancel future renewals. Annual prepay: prorated refund minus a 10% admin fee if we agree to early termination per policy. Enterprise: refunds per your contract.

What happens to my account if payment fails?

We use a graduated process: days 1 to 7 grace with reminders; days 8 to 14 late fee may apply (₹499 plus 2% per week) while service continues; days 15 to 21 read-only access; days 22 to 30 AI features may pause; day 31 and onward suspension with data retained; day 90 and onward archival. Enterprise accounts with a customer success manager get direct outreach before restrictions. Update billing in the admin billing section or email support to avoid interruption.

Do you have a partner/reseller program?

Yes, outside India. The Inkrant Partner Program (parent company) lets international distributors and school groups resell Schools by Inkrant under their brand, set retail pricing, and pay Inkrant wholesale per active school through Partner Console. Partners can assign curriculum templates and OEM branding for schools in their territory. India direct signup only on this site for Indian schools. India-based consultants can ask about referral commissions at admin@inkrant.com.

Will Schools by Inkrant work for tuition centers and coaching institutes?

Yes. Mini at ₹999/month flat (up to 100 students) covers attendance, fees, gradebook, parent portal, mobile apps, and email without AI. It fits coaching centers and small programs. Pass 100 students or need AI and branches, upgrade to Lite or Pro.

What are the best AI school platforms in India?

Schools by Inkrant is built in 2026 as an AI school platform, not a legacy ERP with bolt-on chatbots. On Pro you get School Brain, AI grading, AI timetables, AI assessments, and student risk signals in one stack with public pricing. Evaluate any vendor using our Compare page and a live Lite or Pro trial rather than a slideware demo alone.

What AI features does Schools by Inkrant offer?

Lite: AI Report Card Comments only. Pro and Enterprise: School Brain (agentic intelligence hub on live school data), AI grading with feedback, AI Timetable Generator, AI Assessment Creator, AI At-Risk Student Detection, AI Daily Briefing for leadership, and AI Promotion Recommendations. Teaching workflows also include AI-assisted syllabus setup and pacing alerts, assessments generated from topics, and student-facing doubt help where your school enables it. Mini has no AI. Enterprise matches Pro AI plus chain-scale ops, SLA, and white-label options.

Yes. The platform is ready for schools in India, the Middle East (including UAE and Saudi Arabia), Africa, and other regions. At signup you pick or confirm a curriculum profile: IB, Cambridge IGCSE, US Standard, Indian boards, or African national templates (CAPS, Kenya CBC, Nigeria WAEC/NECO, Ghana, NECTA, UNEB, ZIMSEC, ECZ, and others described in our curriculum FAQ). Public pricing and trials apply where listed on your signup path.

Partnerships

Do you have a partner/reseller program?

Yes, outside India. The Inkrant Partner Program (parent company) lets international distributors and school groups resell Schools by Inkrant under their brand, set retail pricing, and pay Inkrant wholesale per active school through Partner Console. Partners can assign curriculum templates and OEM branding for schools in their territory. India direct signup only on this site for Indian schools.
